These are the result of years of research using the most sensitive instrumentation available, our own ears. Sorry but we don't have any charts, graphs or any other pseudo scientific verbiage used to confuse audiophiles and justify sky high prices. As we all have seen, some interconnects have MSRP prices higher than the cars we are driving. Now that?s crazy! After all the hype, is it the music that counts the most? We at Cryoset think so.
Design Goals ?
Our design goal was to produce an interconnect cable that would provide the correct interface between signal level components, yet be affordable and without all the compromises of a cheap interconnect. We honestly felt that garden hose sized, cumbersome interconnects are not required for good sound and are simply a justification for design deficiencies and high prices.
We wanted a 3D holographic, organic non fatiguing musical presentation. Another design goal was to have an interconnect that provided a well defined, stable sound stage and with subtle musical details. Also we wanted a delicate, natural extended upper end with a solid and controlled bass.
Of course interconnects should not have a sound signature of it own that modifies with the music. We also believe interconnects should not be used to tune the audio system.
Success ?
With the help of some of our audiophile friends we succeeded in meeting our design goals far beyond our expectations. Many well regarded Interconnects were auditioned for comparison purposes and the Cryoset Interconnects were as good or better in conveying a satisfying musical event. Time smear, skin effect and inter-cable reflections were aggressively addressed and solved.
These are not simple solid core wire that loose the inter-detail and the magic of the music.
How Did We Do It?
The wires themselves are made from spiral wound, 39 separately insulated OFC pure copper conductors which are wrapped around and inside teflon tubing. We tried almost every type of wire imaginable including solid core OFC copper, pure silver, silver over copper, and gold. The wire we are using bested all of the other wire types we tried to meet our design goals.
We now are using liberal amounts of AVM, Anti-Vibration Magic from Unico to further control wire dampening. The results have been astounding.
Even the solder used for the manufacturing of our cables is selected for its neutrality on the sound. Yes solder matters.
After trying every RCA plug variant, we determined the ETI Eichman Bullet to be the most neutral sounding connector that didn?t introduce any sonic coloration of its own. As a bonus, the Bullet connectors are easy for the cable maker to work with. The Eichman bodies are used to hold a cast epoxy material that dampens both the cable and chassis plugs while also reducing cable noise. We chose using only the red ends simply because they look cool.
Everything of course, goes through our exclusive Super Cryogenic treatment. The Super Cryogenic Treatment for wire is a multiple treatment protocol using both liquid nitrogen (wet) and (dry) gas nitrogen to stress relieve and stabilize the metal parts. You know, those musical electrons don?t like traveling down a stressful copper road.
